george murphy first shot 2 our screens  on rte's your a star compettion.he captivated both the judges and d public.he was known as d luke kelly sound a like durin d show but later on he made a much bigger mark for himself .he topped d poll for 4 weeks in a row with:the times dey r a changing,working class hero,irene goodnight,d rare auld times,song sung blue.he also won us over with his classic eamon dunphy impressions.in d last year george has enjoyed huge sucess with his 2 hits:d moon going home & d land you love d best.his album also reached no.1 in october of this year.george has shared a stage with many famous artists over d last year such as:aslan, d dubliners.paddy casey and many more.he was also nominated for a meteor award under best folk/trad act.george at the moment can been seen tourin all round ireland.he is deffintly going to be a huge star over d next few years.
